I grew up in Russellville and attended the University of Arkansas on a marching band scholarship (drumline, for those who are curious). After earning my Masters degree in teaching, I taught 3rd grade for 2 years in Dardanelle. I then moved to Uganda, East Africa for about 4 years, where I met my husband Geofrey. We were both volunteering in the slums of the capital city encouraging street children to leave slum life and be reunited with their families as well as educational opportunities.. We moved back to Arkansas in 2017 and I began working for Pottsville Elementary School. My husband works at Sorrells Body Shop in Russellville, and we have a 3 year old son, Koen. I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grade here in Pottsville and have been asked to step into the 1st grade classroom for the 2021-2022 school year.
